Try our mouthwatering chestnut stuffing, bursting with savory flavors and a touch of family tradition, guaranteed to steal the show at your Thanksgiving feast!
Ingredients:
  • 2 cups chestnuts
  • 1.5 cups margarine
  • 0.5 cup chopped onion
  • 2 teaspoons poultry seasoning
  • 0.25 teaspoon pepper
  • 2 (1 pound) loaves day-old bread, cubed
  • 3 large eggs
  • 0.25 cup milk
Instructions:
  • Prepare chestnuts by making small incisions on their surface using a sharp knife. Boil the chestnuts in a saucepan filled with enough water to cover them, until they are tender, which should take around 25 minutes. Then, drain the chestnuts, peel off the skin, and chop them as needed.
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for a perfect bake.
  • In a saucepan, gently melt butter over medium heat. Incorporate chestnuts, onion, poultry seasoning, salt, and pepper, cooking until onions are soft, approximately 3 minutes. Combine with cubed bread in a baking dish.
  • In a small bowl, whisk together eggs and milk until smooth. Pour the mixture evenly over the cubed bread.
  • Bake in the oven until golden and crispy on top, for 30 to 45 minutes.
