Upgrade classic peanut butter brownies with whole wheat flour for a healthier twist that doesn't skimp on the irresistible buttery flavor.
Ingredients:
  • 0.33333334326744 cup margarine, softened
  • 0.66666668653488 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 0.5 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2 tablespoons water
  • 0.75 cup whole wheat flour
  • 0.25 cup all-purpose flour
  • 0.25 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 0.25 teaspoon baking soda
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to a toasty 350°F (175°C) and generously grease a 9x9 inch baking pan.
  • In a spacious mixing bowl, cream margarine and sugars until light and fluffy. Beat in eggs one at a time until well incorporated. Gently mix in peanut butter, vanilla, and water.
  • Combine the flours with salt, baking powder, and baking soda in a separate bowl. Add this mixture to the peanut butter mixture and mix until well blended. Spread the batter evenly in the prepared pan.
  • Bake in a preheated oven for 30-35 minutes until the top springs back when touched. Allow to cool, then cut into 16 squares.
