Asian-inspired chicken with oyster sauce.
Ingredients:
  • 14 ounces skinless, boneless chicken breast meat - cut into bite-size pieces
  • 0.5 cup oyster sauce
  • 2 tablespoons soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 large onion, chopped
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 1 teaspoon white sugar
  • 1 (8 ounce) can sliced water chestnuts, drained
  • 1 cup snow peas
  • 1 small head broccoli, cut into florets
  • 3 tablespoons cornstarch
  • 0.25 cup water
Instructions:
  • Mix the chicken with oyster sauce and soy sauce in a bowl until the chicken is well coated; set aside.
  • In a hot wok or large skillet, sizzle the garlic and onion in vegetable oil until fragrant. Then, add the chicken and marinade, stirring until the chicken is golden brown and cooked through, approximately 10 minutes.
  • 1. Start by gently adding 1/2 cup of water and generously seasoning with pepper and sugar. Next, incorporate the water chestnuts, snow peas, and broccoli. Cover the mixture and simmer until the vegetables reach a perfect tenderness, approximately 5 minutes. Proceed by dissolving cornstarch in 1/4 cup of water and smoothly stirring it into the boiling mixture. Continue cooking until the sauce thickens and becomes clear.
