Experience the flavors of Italy at home with this simple and delicious breaded chicken with lemon sauce recipe!
Ingredients:
  • 6 boneless skinless chicken breasts (1 1/2 lb)
  • 1 egg, slightly beaten
  • 1 tablespoon water
  • 1/2 cup Progresso™ dry bread crumbs (any flavor)
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/8 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 2 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 2 tablespoons lemon juice
  • 2 tablespoons dry white wine or chicken broth
  • Chopped fresh parsley, if desired
  • Lemon wedge, if desired
Instructions:
  • Pound chicken to 1/4-inch thickness using plastic wrap. Combine egg and water. Mix bread crumbs with salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Dredge chicken in flour, dip in egg mixture, then coat with bread crumb mixture.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter with oil over medium heat. Cook chicken for 8 to 10 minutes, turning once, until no longer pink in the center. Use tongs to transfer chicken from skillet and keep warm.
  • Combine the tangy lemon juice and flavorful wine with the savory drippings in the skillet. Bring to a boil and then drizzle over the succulent chicken. Garnish with fragrant chopped fresh parsley and serve with optional lemon wedges.
