Chocolate Chip Dream Bars

Indulge in decadent homemade chocolate bars, perfect for any dessert platter.
Ingredients:
  • 1/3 cup butter or margarine, softened
  • 1 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1 bag (6 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips (1 cup)
  • 1 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 3/4 cup milk chocolate chips
  • 2 teaspoons vegetable oil
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F. Combine 1/2 cup brown sugar and butter in a medium bowl, then mix in 1 cup flour. Press the mixture into a 13x9x2-inch ungreased rectangular pan and bake for 10 minutes.
  • In a medium bowl, combine eggs, 1 cup of brown sugar, and vanilla. Mix in 2 tablespoons of flour, baking powder, and salt. Fold in semisweet and milk chocolate chips. Spread the mixture over the crust.
  • Bake the bars until they turn a beautiful golden brown, then allow them to cool completely in the pan on a wire rack.
  • In a small saucepan, gently heat the ingredients for the Chocolate Glaze, stirring continuously until the chocolate is smooth. Drizzle the glaze over the cooled bars and chill for at least 1 hour until set. Cut into 8 rows by 4 rows and store at room temperature.
