Chocolate shortbread

Decadent chocolate shortbread perfect for gifting or indulging.
Ingredients:
  • 125g butter, softened
  • 70.95 gm caster sugar
  • 2.20 gm vanilla essence
  • 187.50 ml flour
  • 32.50 gm Cocoa
  • 20.00 gm caster sugar, extra
Instructions:
  • Combine the butter, sugar, and vanilla until fluffy. Add sifted flour and cocoa, mix until dough forms.
  • Form the dough into a 12cm long log and coat it with the additional sugar. Refrigerate until firm, then slice into 1/2 cm thick rounds and arrange on lightly greased baking trays.
  • Preheat your oven to 190C and bake for 15 minutes until dry to the touch and slightly golden on the edges. Let cool on a wire rack for 10 minutes, then transfer to cool completely. Store in an airtight container until ready to enjoy.
