Revamped baked beans for a trendy twist on this classic side dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1 large brown onion, finely chopped
  • 6 slices prosciutto, chopped
  • 4 garlic cloves, crushed
  • 46.80 gm dijon mustard
  • 26.80 gm golden syrup
  • 20.00 ml fresh rosemary leaves
  • 330ml bottle apple cider
  • 2 x 400g cans cannellini beans, drained, rinsed
  • 2 x 400g cans borlotti beans, drained, rinsed
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 160°C (320°F) or 180°C (356°F) fan-forced.
  • In a large flameproof casserole dish, heat oil over medium heat. Add onion and prosciutto; cook for 10 minutes until onion softens. Stir in garlic; cook for 1 more minute until fragrant.
  • Combine mustard, golden syrup, rosemary, and cider in a pot and bring to a boil. Add beans and stir together. Cover and bake for 20 minutes or until heated through. Serve hot.
