My family's cherished holiday beets are a delightful seasonal tradition.
Ingredients:
  • 2 (15 ounce) cans sliced beets, drained with liquid reserved
  • 0.75 cup distilled white vinegar
  • 1.5 cups white sugar
  • 2 (3 inch) cinnamon sticks
Instructions:
  • Combine beet liquid, vinegar, sugar, and cinnamon sticks in a saucepan. Boil until sugar dissolves, stirring constantly. Simmer on low for 5 minutes. Pour over sliced beets, mix well. Chill for at least 8 hours before serving.
