Zesty margarita with triple citrus and a spicy chile salt rim handcrafted with ancho and chipotle chile powders.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons fine sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon ancho chile powder
  • 1/8 teaspoon chipotle chile powder
  • Lime wedge
  • 3/4 oz Simple Syrup
  • 1 1/2 oz blanco tequila
  • 1/2 oz clear orange-flavored liqueur
  • 1/2 oz fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 oz fresh orange juice
  • 1/4 oz fresh lemon juice
Instructions:
  • In a 1-quart saucepan, combine sugar and water. Bring to a boil over medium-high heat, stirring until sugar is fully dissolved. Take off the heat and allow it to sit for 30 minutes. Pour the syrup into a storage container, cover, and refrigerate for up to 3 days. Yields 1 1/4 cups of Simple Syrup.
  • Combine sea salt, ancho powder, and chipotle powder in a small bowl, ensuring they are thoroughly mixed. Spread the mixture evenly onto a small plate.
  • For a delicious margarita, first moisten the outside rim of a cocktail glass with a lime wedge and coat it with chile salt. In a cocktail shaker, combine 3/4 oz simple syrup, tequila, orange liqueur, lime juice, orange juice, and lemon juice. Fill the shaker with ice, shake vigorously, and strain into a glass filled with fresh ice. Finally, garnish as you like and enjoy!
