Delicious clams on the half shell topped with a savory blend of garlic, bacon, Parmesan, and herbs, baked to perfection.
Ingredients:
  • 4 slices bacon
  • 24 large clams
  • 0.5 cup minced onion
  • 0.25 cup chopped green bell pepper
  • 1 cup dried bread crumbs
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.5 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 2 teaspoons dried parsley
  • 0.25 teaspoon paprika
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) for the perfect baking temperature.
  • In a medium skillet, sizzle bacon over medium-high heat, flipping occasionally, until perfectly crisp, for about 10 minutes. Place on a paper towel-lined plate to drain, then crumble and set aside.
  • Begin by rinsing the clams under cold water, then arrange them on a baking sheet. Bake the clams in the preheated oven until they naturally open, usually in 1 to 2 minutes. Any clams that remain closed should be discarded. Extract the meat from the shells, chop it, and keep it aside. Remember to save the shells for later use.
  • Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C).
  • In a small skillet over medium heat, combine 2 tablespoons of olive oil and butter. Sauté onion, pepper, and garlic until tender. Remove from heat and allow to cool slightly.
  • Combine chopped clam meat, sautéed veggies, bread crumbs, Parmesan, and oregano in a big bowl until fully mixed. Fill shells with mixture and set on a baking sheet. Top with parsley and paprika. Finish by drizzling with the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil.
  • Place in the oven already preheated for 7 minutes. Enjoy hot.
