Indulgent Alfredo sauce with butter, cream, egg, nutmeg, and two cheeses for a luxurious pasta.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons butter
  • 8 fluid ounces heavy whipping cream
  • 0.25 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 0.25 cup grated Romano cheese
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg
  • salt to taste
  • 1 egg yolk
  • 2 tablespoons grated Parmesan cheese
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in cream while mixing constantly. Add Parmesan cheese, Romano cheese, nutmeg, and salt; continue stirring until cheese is melted.
  • Combine egg yolk and stir until smooth; cook over medium-low heat for 3 to 5 minutes, stirring frequently. Top with extra Parmesan cheese for a finishing touch, if preferred.
