Classic Beef Stroganoff

Indulgent creamy beef over egg noodles, ready in under an hour with just 20 minutes of prep. A must-have for your weekly meals!
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 pounds beef sirloin steak, 1/2 inch thick
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced (2 1/2 cups)
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups from 1 carton Progresso™ Classic Beef Broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ All Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 3 cups hot cooked egg noodles
Instructions:
  • Slice the beef into 1 1/2x1/2-inch strips against the grain.
  • In a 10-inch skillet over medium heat, sauté mushrooms, onions, and garlic in butter until onions are soft and fragrant; transfer mixture from skillet.
  • Brown the beef in the skillet until cooked. Mix in 1 cup of broth, salt, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, then lower the heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Combine the remaining 1/2 cup broth with flour and mix it into the beef mixture. Add the onion mixture and bring it to a boil while stirring constantly. Boil and stir for 1 minute. Then, add sour cream and heat until hot (but do not boil). Serve over noodles.
