Classic Beef Stroganoff

Indulgent beef in creamy sauce over egg noodles - Easy Classic Beef Stroganoff recipe ready in under an hour, just 20 minutes of hands-on time. A must-have for weekly dinners!
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 pounds beef sirloin steak, 1/2 inch thick
  • 8 ounces fresh mushrooms, sliced (2 1/2 cups)
  • 2 medium onions, thinly sliced
  • 1 garlic clove, finely chopped
  • 1/4 cup butter
  • 1 1/2 cups from 1 carton Progresso™ Classic Beef Broth
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup Gold Medal™ All Purpose Flour
  • 1 1/2 cups sour cream
  • 3 cups hot cooked egg noodles
Instructions:
  • Slice the beef into 1 1/2x1/2-inch strips against the grain.
  • Saute mushrooms, onions, and garlic in butter in a 10-inch skillet over medium heat until onions are soft; then transfer to a plate.
  • Brown the beef in the same skillet. Add 1 cup of broth, salt, and Worcestershire sauce. Bring to a boil, then reduce heat, cover, and simmer for 15 minutes.
  • Blend the remaining 1/2 cup of broth into the flour, then incorporate it into the beef mixture. Add the onion mixture and bring to a boil, stirring constantly. Let it boil and stir for 1 minute. Mix in the sour cream and heat until hot (avoid boiling). Serve over noodles.
