Ingredients:
  • 2 sheets ready rolled shortcrust pastry
  • 1 brown onion, finely chopped
  • 4 rashers bacon, rind removed, finely chopped
  • 250.00 ml Dairy Cheese Tasty, grated
  • 3 Free Range Eggs
  • 1 tsp plain flour
  • 300ml cream
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 200°C and lightly grease a 23cm (base) loose-base flan pan with a fluted edge that is 3cm deep.
  • Prepare the flan by lining its base and sides with pastry, ensuring to trim any excess. Line the pastry with baking paper and fill it halfway with dried beans or rice. Bake for 10 minutes, then remove the paper and beans and bake for an additional 10 minutes or until golden brown.
  • In a frying pan over medium-high heat, sauté onion and bacon in oil for 3 minutes. Drain on paper towels, allow to cool, then sprinkle over pastry and top with cheese.
  • Preheat oven to 180°C. Whisk the remaining ingredients, salt, and pepper in a jug. Pour the mixture over the bacon on a tray. Bake for 30 to 35 minutes or until set. Let it stand for 5 minutes before serving.
