Delicious grilled wings perfect for a meal with rice and veggies or a picnic with potato salad and baked beans.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup kosher salt
  • 1 liter cola-flavored carbonated beverage
  • 4 pounds chicken wings
  • 0.5 cup vegetable oil
  • 0.25 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons kosher salt
  • 2 tablespoons garlic powder
  • 2 tablespoons ground black pepper
  • 2 tablespoons ground mustard
  • 4 teaspoons paprika
Instructions:
  • Place 1/2 cup of kosher salt and cola in a resealable plastic bag, mix until salt dissolves. Add chicken wings, coat with brine, remove air, and seal bag. Refrigerate for 2 hours. Meanwhile, combine vegetable oil, brown sugar, 2 tablespoons kosher salt, garlic powder, black pepper, mustard powder, and paprika in a bowl to form a paste; set aside.
  • Prepare your outdoor grill by preheating it to medium heat and lightly oiling the grate.
  • After draining, rest the chicken wings in a colander over the sink and gently pat them dry with paper towels. Transfer the wings to a spacious mixing bowl and toss them with the spice paste until well-covered.
  • Grill the wings on the preheated grill, turning occasionally, until the chicken is cooked through, 10 to 15 minutes.
