Make restaurant-style Belgian waffles with Original Bisquick® mix, cornmeal, and sweet walnut maple syrup for a delicious family breakfast or brunch!
Ingredients:
  • 1 1/2 cups Original Bisquick™ mix
  • 1/2 cup yellow cornmeal
  • 1 1/3 cups milk
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla
  • 1 whole egg
  • 2 egg whites
  • 1 cup maple-flavored syrup
  • 1/2 cup walnut halves, toasted
  • 2 tablespoons butter
Instructions:
  • Combine Bisquick mix, cornmeal, milk, oil, vanilla, and whole egg in a medium bowl, stirring with a fork or whisk until well blended. In a separate small bowl, beat egg whites with an electric mixer on high speed until stiff peaks form, then gently fold into the batter.
  • Preheat the Belgian waffle maker and lightly brush with vegetable oil. Pour 3/4 to 1 cup of batter onto the center of the hot waffle maker for each waffle. Close the lid and bake for about 4 to 5 minutes until the waffles are golden brown and no longer steaming.
  • In a 1-quart saucepan, gently heat the syrup, walnuts, and butter until simmering over medium heat. Drizzle the warm walnut syrup over freshly made waffles to enjoy.
