Award-winning 2010 recipe! Enjoy restaurant-quality Crème Brûlée flavors in a simple bar cookie.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1 box (4-serving size) French vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
  • 1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
  • 2 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
  • 2 eggs plus 3 egg yolks
  • 2 packages (8 oz each) cream cheese, softened
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2/3 cup toffee bits, finely crushed
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F. Lightly coat the bottom and sides of a 13x9-inch pan with cooking spray. Combine cookie mix, pudding mix, brown sugar, melted butter, 1 teaspoon of vanilla, and 1 egg in a large bowl. Mix until a soft dough forms. Press the dough into the bottom and 1/2 inch up the sides of the pan.
  • In a small bowl, use an electric mixer on medium speed to blend together cream cheese, sour cream, and sugar until smooth. Then, add the remaining whole egg, 3 egg yolks, and the remaining 1 1/2 teaspoons of vanilla, and continue to beat until smooth. Spread the mixture over the crust in the pan.
  • Bake for 30 to 35 minutes until the center is set. Sprinkle the top with crushed toffee bits right away. Let it cool for 30 minutes, then refrigerate for about 3 hours until chilled. Cut into 9 rows by 4 rows to make bars and store them covered in the refrigerator.
