Cranberry and hazelnut elevate this quick and flavorful green bean side dish, ready in just 20 minutes!
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 2 tablespoons butter or margarine
  • 1 shallot, finely chopped
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/3 cup chopped hazelnuts (filberts), toasted
  • 1/3 cup sweetened dried cranberries
Instructions:
  • Heat 8 cups of water in a 3-quart saucepan until boiling. Add green beans and cook for 6 to 8 minutes until they are crisp-tender. Drain the green beans.
  • In a large skillet, melt butter over medium-high heat. Sauté shallot for 2 minutes, stirring constantly. Add green beans and cook for 3 minutes until tender and slightly browned. Season with salt and pepper to taste.
  • Combine the beans with hazelnuts and cranberries in a serving bowl. Serve while warm.
