Delicious breadsticks brushed with garlic butter and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese - a family favorite!
Ingredients:
  • 2 tablespoons active dry yeast
  • 2 pinches white sugar
  • 0.5 cup warm water
  • 6 cups all-purpose flour, divided
  • 2 cups hot water
  • 3 tablespoons white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 tablespoon butter, melted
  • 0.5 cup grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste
  • 0.5 teaspoon garlic powder, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 400 degrees F (200 degrees C) and grease 2 baking sheets.
  • Combine yeast, 2 pinches of white sugar, and warm water in a bowl. Allow it to sit until the yeast softens and a creamy foam forms, approximately 5 minutes.
  • In a large mixing bowl, combine 4 cups of flour, hot water, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and salt. Pour in the yeast mixture and mix well. Gradually add the rest of the flour, one cup at a time, ensuring each addition is well mixed. Work the mixture into a dough, then divide it into 2 halves. Shape each half into 12 long breadsticks and place them on prepared baking sheets.
  • Drizzle the melted butter and generously sprinkle Parmesan cheese and garlic powder onto the breadsticks.
  • Bake until beautifully golden brown, for about 13 minutes in the preheated oven.
