Impress guests with decadent cream cheese cake candies made from Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ yellow cake mix, a delightful chilled treat.
Ingredients:
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and eggs called for on cake mix box
  • 3/4 cup Betty Crocker™ Rich & Creamy cream cheese frosting
  • 20 oz chocolate-flavored candy coating (from two 16-oz packages)
  • Assorted candy sprinkles
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350°F and bake the cake according to the box instructions for a 13x9-inch pan. Allow the cake to cool completely, approximately 1 hour.
  • Crumble cake in a large bowl, mix in frosting thoroughly. Shape into 1-inch balls and place on a wax paper-lined baking sheet. Freeze for about 45 minutes until firm, then refrigerate to keep them chilled.
  • Microwave the 8 oz of candy coating in a 1-quart microwavable bowl on High for 1 minute and 30 seconds, stirring halfway through. Continue microwaving and stirring in 15-second intervals until completely melted and smooth.
  • Take out a third of the balls from the refrigerator. Take one ball at a time, dip and roll it in the coating using 2 forks. Place it on a wax paper-lined cookie sheet, and quickly add sprinkles for decoration. Chill the cake balls for about 10 minutes until the coating is firm. Melt the rest of the candy coating in 6-oz portions, dip the rest of the balls. If needed, warm the coating in the microwave until it's easy to coat. Serve at room temperature and store in an airtight container.
