Creamy Brussels sprouts cooked in rich cream and brightened with fresh lemon, a decadent twist on a classic Thanksgiving side.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup butter
  • 1.5 pounds Brussels sprouts, trimmed and quartered
  • 0.25 teaspoon sea salt, or to taste
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lemon juice, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Heat butter in a skillet over medium-high heat until melted. Add Brussels sprouts and salt. Sauté, stirring occasionally, until sprouts are golden brown in spots, approximately 5 minutes.
  • Add cream to the mixture and let it come to a gentle simmer. Lower the heat, cover, and cook until the sprouts are tender and can be easily pierced with a fork, for about 30 to 35 minutes. Notice the cream reducing in volume and turning into a creamy beige color.
  • Uncover and mix in lemon juice. Let Brussels sprouts simmer a bit longer until the creamy sauce thickens and fully coats them.
  • Adjust seasoning with extra salt and lemon juice to enhance flavors just before serving.
