Upgrade white clam sauce with store-bought Alfredo sauce, boosting flavor with extra garlic and onion for a delicious homemade twist.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (8 ounce) package linguine pasta
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 0.25 cup minced sweet onion
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (10 ounce) can baby clams, drained with juices reserved (such as Bumble Bee®)
  • 1 tablespoon dry white wine
  • 1 (16 ounce) jar Alfredo sauce (such as Classico®)
  • 1 teaspoon grated Parmesan cheese, or to taste
  • 1 pinch crushed red pepper flakes, or to taste
Instructions:
  • Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a rolling boil over high heat. Add linguine and cook until al dente, about 11 minutes. Drain pasta well.
  • In a skillet over medium heat, brown the butter and olive oil until slightly golden. Sauté the onion until lightly golden, around 10 minutes. Add garlic and cook for 1 more minute. Pour in clam juice and wine, simmer until reduced by half, about 15 minutes. Stir in Alfredo sauce and clams, heat through for about 5 minutes.
  • Ladle the flavorful clam sauce over the piping hot linguine, then generously sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and a pinch of fiery red pepper flakes for an extra kick.
