Creamy whiskey mustard sauce with crunchy pecans - perfect with salmon.
Ingredients:
  • 0.25 cup unsalted butter
  • 0.25 cup chopped pecans
  • 0.5 cup whiskey
  • 0.5 cup heavy cream
  • 2 tablespoons Dijon mustard
  • 1 tablespoon pure maple syrup
  • salt to taste
  • freshly ground white pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter until it starts to sizzle. Toss in the chopped pecans and stir continuously for 2 minutes until they release an irresistible aroma. Take the saucepan off the heat and carefully place the buttery pecans into a small dish. Enjoy!
  • Place the saucepan back on the heat, pour in the whiskey to let the alcohol burn off. Stir in the cream, Dijon mustard, and maple syrup. Bring to a gentle boil and simmer until the sauce slightly thickens for 1 to 2 minutes. Season with salt and pepper. Stir the chopped pecans back in and serve right away.
