French Canadian breakfast spread: Cretons - minced pork pâté, beloved in Quebec, perfect on toast or multigrain bread.
Ingredients:
1poundground pork
1cupmilk
1onion, chopped
choppedgarlic
1pinchground cloves
1pinchground allspice
salt and pepper, to taste
0.25 cupdry bread crumbs
Instructions:
In a large saucepan over medium heat, simmer ground pork, milk, onion, garlic, cloves, allspice, salt, and pepper for 1 hour. Mix in bread crumbs and cook for an additional 10 minutes. Season to taste, then transfer to a small container and chill.
