Delicious Halloween cupcakes made with Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ cake mix and frosting.
Ingredients:
  • Powdered sugar
  • 8 oz white fondant (from 1-lb container)
  • 1 box Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ White Cake Mix
  • Water, vegetable oil and egg whites called for on cake mix box
  • 1 tub (12 oz) Betty Crocker™ Whipped Fluffy White Frosting
  • Crushed chocolate wafer cookies, if desired
Instructions:
  • Roll out fondant on a powdered sugar-dusted surface until it's 1/8-inch thick. Use a 2-inch bone-shaped cookie cutter to cut out 48 bones from the fondant, re-rolling as necessary. Arrange the bones in a single layer on an ungreased large cookie sheet and let them dry uncovered for at least 6 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and line 24 regular-size muffin cups with paper baking cups. Follow the instructions on the cake mix box to make the cupcakes with water, oil, and egg whites. After baking, let the cupcakes cool for 10 minutes, then transfer them to cooling racks to cool completely.
  • Transfer frosting into a resealable plastic bag or a decorating bag with a small metal tip. Cut a small corner off the plastic bag if using, then pipe frosting onto cupcakes. Sprinkle with cookie crumbs and place two fondant bones on each cupcake to create a crossbones design.
