Make spooky skull-shaped sugar cookies using Betty Crocker™ mix, and top with festive icing for a spooktacular Halloween treat!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • Flour, butter and egg called for on cookie mix pouch for cutout cookies
  • 18 craft sticks (flat wooden sticks with round ends)
  • 2 pouches (7 oz each) Betty Crocker™ Decorating Cookie Icing white icing
  • 1 pouch (7 oz) Betty Crocker™ Decorating Cookie Icing black icing
Instructions:
  • Combine the cookie mix, flour, butter, and egg in a medium bowl until a dough forms. Shape the dough into a ball and slightly flatten it. Wrap the dough in plastic wrap and refrigerate for 1 hour until firm.
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F. Roll out the dough on a lightly floured surface to 1/4-inch thickness and cut out skull and crossbones shapes using a 3-inch cookie cutter. Place the cutouts 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheet and gently insert a craft stick halfway into the center of each cookie.
  • Bake for 8 to 10 minutes until edges turn golden brown. Allow to cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack to cool completely. Decorate with white and black icing, and let it set.
