Spooky skull-shaped meatloaf with egg "eyes" and garlic "teeth" for a fun Halloween dish.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds ground beef
  • 1 small onion, finely chopped
  • 0.75 cup buttery round crackers, crushed
  • 0.66666668653488 cup milk
  • 0.5 cup finely shredded sharp Cheddar cheese
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1 teaspoon seasoned salt (such as Morton® Nature's Seasons® Seasoning Blend), or to taste
  • 1 hard-boiled egg, cut in half
  • 0.5 cup ketchup
  • 0.25 cup brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons barbeque sauce (such as Stubb's®)
  • 5 cloves garlic, cut into small pieces
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and line a baking sheet with greased aluminum foil.
  • Combine ground beef, onion, crackers, milk, shredded Cheddar cheese, eggs, Worcestershire sauce, and seasoned salt in a bowl. Then shape the mixture into a skull on a baking sheet, creating indentations for "eye sockets" and a "mouth". Gently place hard-boiled egg halves into the "eye sockets" and mold the beef mixture around them to secure in place.
  • Combine ketchup, brown sugar, and barbeque sauce in a bowl until the sauce is smooth. Coat the entire beef mixture, including the "eyes" and "mouth", with half of the sauce.
  • Roast until fully cooked through, approximately 50 to 60 minutes. Use an instant-read thermometer to ensure the internal temperature reaches at least 160°F (70°C).
  • Place the garlic pieces strategically to resemble "teeth," then generously brush the remaining sauce over the meatloaf or serve it on the side.
