"Delicious and hearty crunchwrap casserole with a crispy exterior and crunchy tostadas inside."
Ingredients:
  • 1 lb. lean ground beef
  • 1 cup chopped onion
  • 1 pkt. Taco seasoning
  • 3 tablespoons butter, melted, divided
  • 6 10-inch flour tortillas
  • 2 cups shredded cheddar cheese
  • ½ cup finely chopped cilantro (optional)
  • 3 medium ripe tomatoes, seeded, diced anddrained on paper towels
  • 8 oz. sour cream
  • 8 tostada shells
  • 1(15 oz.) can nacho cheese
  • shredded lettuce
  • sour Cream
  • guacamole
  • hot Sauce
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to a toasty 375 degrees F (190 degrees C).
  • Heat a large skillet over medium-high heat. Brown ground beef for 2 minutes, breaking it up with a wooden spoon. Add onion and cook until beef is browned and onion is soft, about 5 minutes. Sprinkle taco seasoning over meat, mix well. Pour in water, scrape up any browned bits, stir for 2 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside.
  • Lightly coat a 9x13 baking dish with melted butter. Arrange 5 tortillas along the edges and bottom of the pan, letting any excess hang over the sides and overlapping to cover the pan completely. Sprinkle shredded cheese over the tortillas, then top evenly with cilantro and tomatoes. Spoon sour cream into a plastic bag, and drizzle over the tomatoes.
  • Layer tostada shells on top of the sour cream, ensuring they slightly overlap. Spread nacho cheese sauce over the tostadas. Top with the cooked beef mixture, spreading it out evenly. Place the remaining tortilla in the center and fold the overhanging tortillas over it. Brush the casserole with the remaining butter, pressing down any loose ends.
  • Simply bake in the preheated oven for about 30 minutes until beautifully golden brown and lightly toasted.
  • Allow to sit for 5 minutes, then gently flip the casserole onto a serving board. Cut into desired portions using a large serrated knife. Serve with shredded lettuce, extra sour cream or guacamole, and hot sauce to taste.
