Moist date and almond bread with a hint of nutmeg, made rich with whole milk yogurt.
Ingredients:
  • 0.75 cup slivered almonds
  • 0.5 cup butter, softened
  • 0.75 cup whole milk yogurt
  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon ground nutmeg
  • 1 cup chopped dates
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) and generously grease a 6-inch baking pan.
  • Arrange almonds evenly on a baking sheet.
  • Toast almonds in the oven until they are golden brown and fragrant, approximately 5 minutes.
  • In a large bowl, cream together sugar and butter using an electric mixer until creamy. Add yogurt and eggs, then blend in flour, baking soda, nutmeg, and salt. Gently fold in 1/2 cup each of toasted almonds and dates into the batter.
  • Spread the batter evenly in the pan and sprinkle the top with the remaining 1/4 cup of toasted almonds for an extra crunch.
  • Bake until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean, about 50-60 minutes in the preheated oven.
