These irresistible deer meat appetizers were a hit at a Halloween party, demanded by 15 guests. Perfect for those who don't enjoy gamey flavors, even skeptics were won over!
Ingredients:
  • 1 pound venison steaks, cubed
  • 0.5 teaspoon Greek seasoning, or to taste
  • 0.25 teaspoon steak seasoning, or to taste
  • 1 (16 ounce) bottle Italian salad dressing
  • 0.5 cup jalapeno pepper slices
  • 10 slices bacon, cut in half
  • toothpicks, soaked in water
Instructions:
  • Coat the venison meat generously with Greek and steak seasonings in a bowl. Pour over sufficient Italian dressing to fully coat the meat. Refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours for marinating, ideally overnight for enhanced flavor.
  • 1. Preheat the grill to medium heat. 2. Remove the marinade from the meat and discard. 3. Top each piece of meat with a jalapeno slice, wrap with bacon, and secure with a soaked toothpick. Repeat for all pieces of meat.
  • Grill the deer poppers for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally until the bacon is nicely browned. Serve and savor every bite!
