Delicious Cranberry Sauce

Simple homemade cranberry sauce with orange zest, brown sugar, and cinnamon for a delicious twist.
Ingredients:
  • 0.5 cup white sugar
  • 0.5 cup brown sugar
  • 0.5 cup orange juice
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 1 (12 ounce) package fresh or frozen cranberries
Instructions:
  • Combine sugars, orange juice, water, and cinnamon in a heavy saucepan. Stir to dissolve the sugar. Add cranberries and bring to a boil. Cook until berries pop, approximately 10 minutes. If desired, mash mixture with a spoon to pop any unpopped berries and thicken the sauce. Reduce heat to low and simmer until desired thickness is reached, up to 10 more minutes.
  • Take the sauce off the heat, transfer it to a bowl, and refrigerate until ready to serve. The sauce will thicken as it chills.
