Ingredients:
  • 50 g unsalted butter
  • 200 g quality dark chocolate (70%)
  • 1 x 396 g tin of condensed milk
  • 25 g ground almonds
  • 2 heaped teaspoons Horlicks
  • 200 g self-raising flour
  • 100 g Maltesers
  • 50 g quality white chocolate
Instructions:
  • In a pan over low heat, melt butter and chocolate until smooth, stirring occasionally. Remove from heat, stir in condensed milk, almonds, and Horlicks. Sift in flour and a pinch of sea salt, mix, then chill in the fridge for 20 to 30 minutes. Once cool, slightly firm but pliable, smash Maltesers and roughly chop white chocolate, mix in. Preheat oven to 170°C/325°F/gas 3. Shape mixture into 24 balls, flatten slightly, place on baking trays lined with paper. Bake for about 12 minutes until chewy inside and firm edges. Cool on wire rack. For extra indulgence, sandwich cookies with ice cream or marshmallow, or drizzle with melted chocolate. Enjoy!
