Quick, wholesome homemade dog food alternative.
Ingredients:
  • 1.5 pounds lean ground beef
  • 3 stalks celery, chopped
  • 2 carrots, grated
  • 1 apple, cored and diced
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 slices white bread, torn into pieces
  • 1 cup regular rolled oats
  • 1 cup wheat germ
  • 1 (6 ounce) can tomato paste
  • 4 medium potatoes, cubed
  • 3 carrots, chopped
  • 1 stalk celery, cubed
Instructions:
  • First, preheat the oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Then, generously coat a large roasting pan with oil and set it aside.
  • Combine ground beef, celery, carrots, apple, eggs, bread, oats, wheat germ, and tomato paste in a large bowl, using your hands. Shape the mixture into four loaves and place them in a roasting pan. Add potatoes, remaining carrots, and celery around the loaves; cover with a lid.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for 80 minutes or until the meat reaches an internal temperature of 175 degrees F (80 degrees C when measured with a meat thermometer). Let it cool before serving.
  • Divide the food into containers, each filled with one loaf and one quarter of the vegetables. Chill in the refrigerator. When ready to serve, portion out 1/3 of a container along with the kibble for your dog.
