Delicious and affordable sausage stir-fry for solo dining, easily made using just a hot plate and microwave - ideal for dorm living.
Ingredients:
  • 2 teaspoons sesame oil
  • 0.5 smoked sausage, sliced on the diagonal
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger
  • 1 teaspoon minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons stir-fry sauce
  • 0.5 cup frozen broccoli florets
  • 0.5 cup frozen bell pepper strips
  • 1 (8.5 ounce) package instant jasmine rice
  • 0.5 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • 1 green onion, chopped
Instructions:
  • In a skillet over medium-high heat, sizzle sesame oil. Add sliced sausage, cook for 2 minutes. Stir in ginger and garlic, cook till fragrant, around 30 seconds.
  • Combine the broccoli, bell peppers, and stir-fry sauce in the pan. Stir and cook for approximately 4 minutes until heated through.
  • Cut off a one-inch corner of the rice pouch, then microwave the rice for 90 seconds.
  • Fluff the rice and mound it onto a plate. Pile on the sausage stir-fry and sprinkle with sesame seeds and green onions for a flavorful finish.
