Authentic stew with fluffy dumplings for the ultimate comfort meal.
Ingredients:
  • 250 g self-raising flour
  • 125 g unsalted butter cold
Instructions:
  • 1. Preheat the oven to 190°C/375°F/gas 5. 2. Place flour in a mixing bowl. 3. Grate cold butter into the flour using a coarse grater. 4. Add a pinch of sea salt and black pepper. 5. Rub butter into flour with fingers until it resembles breadcrumbs. 6. Add a splash of cold water to bind it into a dough. 7. Divide dough into 24 pieces and gently roll each into a round dumpling. 8. If stew looks dry, add a cup of boiling water and stir. 9. Place dumplings on top of cooked stew, pressing lightly so they're half submerged. 10. Cook in the oven or on the hob over medium heat with lid on for 30 minutes.
