Savor the flavors of Poland with these easy and delicious beef patties, known as kotlety.
Ingredients:
  • 1.3333333730698 pounds lean ground beef
  • 0.66666668653488 cup milk cracker crumbs
  • 1 small sweet yellow onion, minced
  • 1 egg, well beaten
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1.25 teaspoons kosher salt
  • 0.5 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 0.5 cup vegetable shortening for frying
Instructions:
  • In a large bowl, combine ground beef, cracker crumbs, onion, egg, milk, garlic, kosher salt, and black pepper until evenly mixed. Shape into twelve 3-inch patties that are about 1 1/4-inch thick.
  • In a large skillet over medium-high heat, melt vegetable shortening. Sear patties until beautifully golden brown on each side, approximately 2 minutes per side. Lower heat to low and cook uncovered until patties are fully cooked through, around 20 minutes. Once done, transfer patties to paper towels to drain before serving.
