Ingredients:
  • 80.00 gm butter
  • 26.80 gm golden syrup
  • 112.50 gm sugar
  • 10.00 gm Cocoa Powder
  • 4.00 gm baking powder
  • 5ml vanilla essence
  • 2.50 gm bicarbonate of soda
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 190 degrees and generously prepare a cake or loaf tin with a light coating of grease and flour.
  • Combine butter and syrup in a pot and melt together. Add egg and sugar and beat until well combined.
  • Sift together the flour, cocoa, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
  • Combine the fragrant melted butter mixture with the dry ingredients.
  • Combine bicarbonate of soda and milk, allowing them to blend together. Introduce vanilla essence to the mixture. Use an electric mixer to blend for about 1 minute or until achieving a smooth texture.
  • Bake for 30-40 minutes, or until a skewer inserted in the cake comes out clean.
