Tender beef roast slow-cooked in savory Japanese flavors of broth, rice wine, ginger, and soy sauce for a delicious meal.
Ingredients:
  • 2 onions, finely chopped
  • 5 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 (3 1/2) pound beef roast
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) can onion-flavored beef broth
  • 1.3333333730698 cups rice wine
  • 0.66666668653488 cup soy sauce
  • 4 slices fresh ginger
  • 2 tablespoons white sugar
  • ground black pepper to taste
Instructions:
  • Layer the fragrant onions and garlic at the base of a 5-quart slow cooker, then elegantly nestle the roast on top.
  • Combine beef broth, rice wine, and soy sauce in a separate bowl. Pour the mixture over the roast, place ginger slices on top, and finally, sprinkle sugar and black pepper over the roast.
  • Slow cook the roast covered on Low heat, turning it 2 to 3 times throughout, until it easily pulls apart with a fork, which should take 12 to 18 hours.
