Crispy pan-fried fish fillets with zesty lemon, seasoned flour, and five-spice blend.
Ingredients:
  • 4 (5 ounce) mild white fish fillets
  • 1 lemon, juiced
  • salt to taste
  • 4 tablespoons all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon Chinese five-spice powder
  • 4 tablespoons canola oil
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
Instructions:
  • Rinse the fish under cool running water, gently dry with paper towels, and then drizzle with fresh lemon juice and season generously with salt on both sides.
  • In a shallow bowl, blend flour and five-spice powder. Coat both sides of fish fillets in the flour mixture.
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, warm a blend of canola and sesame oils. Add fish and pan-fry for 2 to 3 minutes. Gently flip the fillets using two spatulas and cook until the fish easily flakes with a fork, about 2 to 3 more minutes.
