Russian Tea Cakes: Buttery, nutty cookies dusted with sweet powdered sugar. A classic melt-in-your-mouth dessert loved for generations. Quick and easy recipe for a delicious treat anytime.
Ingredients:
  • 1 pouch (17.5 oz) Betty Crocker™ Sugar Cookie Mix
  • 1/2 cup Gold Medal™ all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 egg
  • 3/4 cup finely chopped pecans
  • 1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 350°F.
  • Combine cookie mix, flour, melted butter, and egg in a large bowl, stirring with a spoon until a soft dough forms. Mix in pecans. Shape dough into 1 1/4-inch balls by pressing firmly and place them 1 inch apart on ungreased cookie sheets.
  • Bake for 10 to 12 minutes until set but not brown. Let sit on the cookie sheet for 2 minutes, then transfer to a cooling rack. After 5 minutes, gently roll each warm cookie in powdered sugar in a small bowl and return to the cooling rack. Cool completely, about 20 minutes.
  • Coat the cookies once more in powdered sugar and store them covered at room temperature.
