Create a cherished family cake tradition with a simple and perfect cake using Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ yellow cake mix, pudding mix, and whiskey.
Ingredients:
  • 2 boxes Betty Crocker™ Super Moist™ Yellow Cake Mix
  • 2 boxes (4-serving size each) vanilla instant pudding and pie filling mix
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 cup vegetable oil
  • 1/4 cup whiskey
  • 8 eggs
  • 2 cups chopped walnuts
  • 1/2 cup butter, melted
  • 1 1/2 cups whiskey
  • 1 box (1 lb) powdered sugar (4 cups)
Instructions:
  • Preheat your oven to 350°F and generously coat 9 (5x3-inch) loaf pans with cooking spray.
  • Combine the cake mix, pudding mix, milk, oil, 1/4 cup whiskey, and eggs in a large bowl. Mix with an electric mixer on medium speed for 5 minutes. Stir in 2 cups of walnuts until well combined. The batter will be thick. Divide the batter among the pans evenly.
  • Bake for 35 to 40 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean. Let the pans cool on racks.
  • After the cakes come out of the oven, mix melted butter, 1 1/2 cups of whiskey, and powdered sugar in a large bowl until smooth. Set aside 1 1/2 cups of the icing in another bowl. Use a bamboo skewer to poke holes in the tops of the cakes. Drizzle the remaining icing over the cakes, allowing it to soak in for 1 minute before repeating the process until all the icing is absorbed. Let the cakes cool completely for 45 to 60 minutes.
  • Mix 2 cups of walnuts into the reserved 1 1/2 cups of icing. Spread this walnut mixture over the tops of the cakes. Freeze the cakes by wrapping them tightly.
