Indulge in decadent eggnog crème brûlée with a caramelized sugar topping for a delightful dessert.
Ingredients:
  • 3 cups whipping cream
  • 5 egg yolks
  • 1/2 cup sugar
  • 2 tablespoons dark rum
  • 1 tablespoon brandy
  • 1/2 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/2 cup firmly packed brown sugar
Instructions:
  • Preheat oven to 325°F. Arrange eight 6-oz. ramekins or custard cups in a 15x10x1-inch baking pan. Gently simmer whipping cream in a medium saucepan, then remove from heat.
  • In a medium bowl, whisk together egg yolks, eggs, and sugar until well combined. Slowly pour in hot whipping cream while whisking vigorously. Add rum, brandy, vanilla, and nutmeg, then pour the mixture into ramekins.
  • Place a pan in the oven and carefully pour hot water into the pan until it reaches 1/2 to 3/4-inch up the sides of the ramekins.
  • Bake at 325°F for 30-35 minutes until centers are just set. Remove from oven and let cool on wire rack for 30 minutes. Refrigerate for at least 3 hours or overnight.
  • For serving, arrange ramekins in a baking pan. Sprinkle 1 tablespoon of brown sugar on top of each. Broil 4 to 6 inches from the heat for 1 to 2 minutes until sugar caramelizes. Keep refrigerated until ready to serve.
