Eggnog Gingerbread Trifle

Festive eggnog and gingerbread trifle is a holiday showstopper.
Ingredients:
  • 1 (14.5 ounce) package gingerbread cake mix
  • 3 cups eggnog
  • 1 (5.1 ounce) package instant vanilla pudding mix
  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 0.25 cup white sugar
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 0.25 cup sweetened dried cranberries, chopped
  • 2 tablespoons gingersnap cookie crumbs
Instructions:
  • Bake the gingerbread cake mix according to the package instructions and allow it to cool entirely.
  • In a spacious bowl, combine the pudding mix with eggnog, whisk vigorously for 2 minutes. Chill the pudding until the gingerbread cake is cool for assembling the trifle.
  • Whip cream in a large bowl until almost stiff. Add sugar and vanilla, continue beating until stiff peaks form.
  • To begin, layer half of the gingerbread on the bottom of a trifle bowl or large glass bowl. Top it with half of the eggnog pudding and half of the whipped cream. Repeat the layers with the remaining gingerbread, pudding, and whipped cream. Chill in the fridge for at least 6 hours or overnight. Prior to serving, garnish the top with cranberries and cookie crumbs.
