"Enjoy a timeless favorite - Roman-era elderflower cordial for a refreshing sip of history."
Ingredients:
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 large head fresh elderflowers (4-5 flowers)
  • 250g caster sugar
  • 1 tsp white wine vinegar
Instructions:
  • Cut the lemon in half and squeeze out the juice into a large glass or plastic container. Add the squeezed lemon halves, flowers, sugar, vinegar, and 2.5 liters of water. Gently stir everything together, cover the container, and let it sit at room temperature for 24 hours.
  • Strain the mixture through muslin and transfer to sterilized bottles. Allow it to steep in a cool, dark place for 2 weeks, then store for up to 6 months. Once opened, refrigerate and use within 2 weeks.
