Rich and flavorful enchilada sauce with onions, garlic, cumin, cinnamon, chicken broth, and semisweet chocolate for an authentic Mexican taste.
Ingredients:
  • 3 tablespoons chopped garlic
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon ground cumin
  • 0.25 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • 5 tablespoons hot chili powder
  • 4.5 cups chicken broth
  • 0.5 (1 ounce) square semisweet chocolate
Instructions:
  • In a large saucepan over medium-high heat, warm the oil. Cook the onion until tender. Add the garlic, oregano, cumin, and cinnamon; sauté for a few minutes.
  • Combine flour and chili powder in the pan, stirring until the sauce thickens. Gradually whisk in chicken broth, simmer until sauce thickens to your liking. Add chocolate and stir until completely melted and incorporated.
