Korean-style marinated chicken bites with sesame seeds, cornstarch, and soy sauce, fried to perfection for a crowd-pleasing dish.
Ingredients:
  • 3 eggs
  • 0.5 cup soy sauce
  • 0.33333334326744 cup white sugar
  • 0.75 cup cornstarch
  • 3 tablespoons sesame seeds
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 4 green onions, chopped
  • 3 cloves garlic, diced
  • 3 pounds skinless, boneless chicken thighs, cut into bite-sized pieces
  • oil for frying
Instructions:
  • Combine eggs, soy sauce, and sugar in a large bowl and whisk until well blended.
  • In a separate bowl, mix together cornstarch, flour, sesame seeds, and salt. Gently whisk in the egg mixture, then fold in the green onions and garlic.
  • Mix chicken with batter until well coated. Refrigerate, covered, for 8 hours to 2 days, stirring 1 to 2 times daily.
  • In a heavy saucepan, pour 1 1/2 to 2 inches of oil. Heat over medium-high heat until a drop of batter sizzles when added.
  • Mix chicken once more to ensure it is fully coated in batter. Fry in batches until beautifully browned, approximately 3 minutes per batch. Place on a large plate lined with paper towels or newspapers to drain.
