Succulent lamb neck bones enrich a savory Syrian green bean stew featuring onion, garlic, and tomato sauce.
Instructions:
  • In a large skillet over medium heat, melt butter. Sear lamb neck bones in the butter until browned, about 7 to 10 minutes. Add onion and garlic, continue cooking and stirring until browned, for another 7 to 10 minutes.
  • Combine water, tomato sauce, salt, allspice, and pepper in a small bowl. Pour the mixture into the skillet and bring to a boil. Lower the heat to medium-low, cover, and simmer until the meat easily pulls away from the neck bones, approximately 45 minutes.
  • Add green beans and potatoes to the skillet, ensuring they are submerged in the liquid. Cover and cook for approximately 15 minutes until the beans are tender and the potatoes are cooked through. Remove and discard any bones before serving.
