Impress with this gourmet appetizer that's always a crowd pleaser. Enhance olive mixture with green olives and balsamic. Try goat cheese instead of cream cheese. Serve with French bread or crackers.
Ingredients:
  • 1 cup chopped dried figs
  • 0.5 cup water
  • 2 tablespoons balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon dried rosemary
  • 1 teaspoon dried thyme
  • 0.25 teaspoon cayenne pepper
  • 0.66666668653488 cup chopped kalamata olives
  • salt and pepper to taste
  • 0.33333334326744 cup chopped toasted walnuts
  • 1 (8 ounce) package cream cheese
Instructions:
  • In a saucepan, simmer figs and water until tender and liquid is reduced. Remove from heat and stir in olive oil, balsamic vinegar, rosemary, thyme, and cayenne. Add olives and garlic, mix well, season with salt and pepper. Refrigerate covered for 4 hours or overnight to enhance flavors.
  • Place the unwrapped cream cheese block on a serving platter. Top with tapenade and sprinkle walnuts. Serve alongside French bread or crackers.
