Elevate summer gatherings with this elegant Italian appetizer - fresh figs, creamy ricotta, basil, and balsamic. Perfect for showcasing seasonal flavors at their best.
Ingredients:
  • 1 French baguette, cut into 1/2 inch slices
  • 1 (15 ounce) container ricotta cheese
  • 12 fresh basil leaves, cut into thin strips
  • 8 black mission figs, cut in quarters
  • 0.25 cup aged balsamic vinegar
Instructions:
  • Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C) for the perfect cooking temperature.
  • Lay the baguette slices on a foil-lined baking sheet without greasing.
  • Bake the bread in a preheated oven until the bottoms are brown, approximately 5 minutes. Flip and bake until crisp, another 5 minutes. Remove from the oven.
  • Spread a generous tablespoon of creamy ricotta on each golden slice of toast. Top with delicate basil ribbons, a slice of sweet fig, and a tantalizing drizzle of balsamic vinegar to finish off these delicious crostini.
