Ready-to-go white sauce for quick and delicious toddler-friendly fish meals.
Ingredients:
  • 75g piece of firm white fish fillet (see note)
  • 20g angel hair pasta, broken up into short pieces
  • 62.50 ml frozen corn, carrot and peas
  • 10.40 gm of milk
  • 50g butter
  • 40.00 ml plain flour
  • 515.00 gm milk
Instructions:
  • In a small saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Stir in flour and cook for 1 minute until bubbling. Remove from heat and gradually stir in milk to prevent lumps. Return to heat and cook for 5 minutes until sauce boils and thickens. Pour sauce into ice-cube trays, cool, cover with plastic wrap, and freeze overnight until firm.
  • Prepare the frying pan by lightly spraying it with olive oil. Heat over medium heat. Cook the fish fillet for 3 to 4 minutes on each side until it's fully cooked. Set aside and flake it into pieces. In a separate saucepan, cook the pasta according to package instructions, adding peas, corn, and carrot in the last 2 minutes of cooking. Drain the pasta. Warm up 2 thawed white sauce cubes with milk in a frying pan over low heat until the sauce is creamy and smooth.
